Recap: Scott at the 2022 Global Citizen Festival in NYC

Central Park buzzed with energy for the 2022 Global Citizen Festival. Scott, taking on the role of a presenter, shared a heartfelt reflection on the red carpet:

"There are things like today that remind you every action counts... No matter how small, move — make it happen. It’s up to us."

This year, Global Citizen's campaign celebrated raising over $2.4 billion in commitments to end extreme poverty. Spanning six weeks, the campaign culminated in a festival that started in Accra, Ghana, and wrapped up in New York's Central Park.

In Accra, the announcement of the African Prosperity Fund stood out, promising $1 billion for diverse projects across Africa. Meanwhile, in NYC, world leaders, including France's President Macron, stepped forward with major announcements aimed at supporting the world's most vulnerable.

The musical line-up was stellar. Accra saw performances from Usher, SZA, and more, while NYC boasted acts like Metallica, Mariah Carey, and the Jonas Brothers. Alongside Scott, the festival featured a variety of presenters, including Katie Holmes and Bill Nye.

The event reached global audiences through platforms like ABC, Apple Music, and Canal+ in Africa.

Being part of such an impactful event, Scott felt truly grateful for the opportunity to contribute to meaningful change.
